FITMA – The Opportunity to Meet Our Customers and Partners
Armando Gordillo, Vektek’s international sales manager, explains why FITMA will be the manufacturing showcase Mexico has been waiting for.
FITMA has been an organization and an event to which I have been cordially invited to participate as a company and as part of the advisory committee. FITMA’s expectations for Vektek are very high. Really, the organizers have done an excellent job in showing Vektek — as a client — what the benefits to our company will be for our investment in the show.
My expectation from FITMA is to meet again with our customers, suppliers and industry partners, which are companies that promote machine tools on a large scale and that have the common sense to know what is needed in a machine shop.
As part of FITMA’s advisory committee, I understand that these expectations are being met by the backbone of Gardner Business Media, which has the time and resources to promote an event like FITMA. I think that for many people it can seem like the rivalry of other events and shows in Mexico.
But for me, FITMA is really an organization that has been in the market for a long time, that has tried many small things like B2B events and events like MMS Mexico Live, which has gained experience and is now inviting the industry to participate personally to make this event that we have needed so much.
We know that the client who attends FITMA can find the whole process — machines and finished parts — with just one attendance. Previously, in the more than 40 events I have worked on during the last seven years in Mexico, I never received a “warm-up,” in which we were invited to participate in a way that was a little more connected to the organization.
FITMA has really given me the ability to believe again in events that have a real interest in the final client in us as principals and in events that are win-wins for the participants and the exhibitors, not just a person with a suit and tie seeing what the calendar is going to be for you to buy your next booth.
For the first time, I feel that an organization is really interested in creating a good show and is not at ease just because it has already sold its booth.
